This year Beavers are 30 years old! We kicked off our celebrations with a birthday themed night, lighting candles on cakes, learning an alternative birthday song, making party hats and playing party games.
We also linked the night to Queensbury Scout Group's pledge to twin our toilets with a toilet block in Nepal. 1,800 children under 5 die each day due to poor sanitation and unclean water. 1,800 children a day don't live long enough to have the chance to become Beavers.
Our Beavers decorated buns and biscuits and then sold them at the end of the night, raising a fantastic £34.84. This is a great start to our fundraising and will be followed by small change collections as we ask families to 'spend a penny' and make a 'wee' change to someone's life.
Update:
Beaver families are truly amazing! Thanks to your incredible generosity Beavers have raised an astounding £169.29 towards the Group's Toilet Twinning project. I just can't thank you all enough for your fabulous fundraising. Well done!
